Warm Mist Humidifier

with it being so cold outside i have to constantly keep my radiators going to keep me and my children warm inside but it is drying out the air in my apartment horribly to the point every body in the house needs to lubricate their noses every night or suffer a nose bleed. ive tried a humidifier and boiling water over the stove during the day to moisten the air but its not doing the trick.this seems to be a problem throughout the year. what other options do i have?

myself and my son moved into an in law recently and it gets very dusty daily!!! carpets, walls everything…every time i pick something up i can see things flying in the air!!, every time i sleep i get congested i am going to buy something to sweep up the dust daily but other than that i was wondering if an air purifier would work?….also someone told me that it may make the air in the home very dry….is that a bad thing??!! what can i do to control the dust and whats the help and/or effects of an air purifier????!!!!

The room feels stuffy. I don’t want to use a humidifier because the instructions say not to use in a closed room with children sleeping. Also, there is the inconvenience of maintaining it. Would a certain fan or air conditioner help? I heard ionic breezes are not recommended.

I have a humidifier that has been in the closet all summer and fall and I just got it out but now i can’t find the product guide anywhere and I want to clean it out to make sure that its blowing out clean air. does anybody know the best way to clean one of these? do i need vinegar or will just soap and water do?

I cannot seem to find it anywhere…I unscrewed the sheet metal from the front of the unit…There is nothing to unscrew on the sides or back…I changed the Humidifier filter without a problem, but cant find the central air filter………Thanks…

I can’t afford a air purifier, but i do have a humidifier will that help get some dust out of my carpet and out the air?

The humidifier is turned all the way up and is working properly. However, my wife says the air freezes her face and she has stopped wearing the device. She really needs to use it, but she pulls it off in her sleep when she does wear it. Lately she hasn’t used it at all because of the temperature of the air.

i have a sever cough and my doc reccommended a humidifier. im in a finished basement bedroom with no air vent or windows if that matters. Dont worry its not like a jail cell haha. thanks.

My cold air return runs through the center of my house with one large return on the main floor and upper level, it may be tough to branch off this for the basement, if would have to be at the furnace directly above the humidifier, is that okay?

I live in a house with gas heat and electric radiator heaters. I have been usinfg two hot air humidifiers and the air is so dry. Me and my son are both cruping. I went and purchased a cool air unit and put it in his room. Is there anything else I can do to help soothe our dry nose throat and mouth or do I simply need to get some more cool air units?

Our air is so dry since we had a new A/C and heating unit installed. We would like to buy a small, quiet, efficient humidifier that is easy to take care of.

We have been told that a humidifier is good if you live in dry climate (we do) but that also a fan would be helpful to keep fresh air circulating. That seems like a lot of appliances on at once in a smaller room. Do we really need both? We live in a condo building so our nursery does not have a window as it is towards our front door which is in an indoor hallway, so a fan is probably a good idea, the humidifier I am not so sure of. What do you think?

I always develop a cough when I get home. I live in London, but I’m originally from Africa, could it be that the air is to moist or that I’m not used to central heating? Would installing a humidifier or something help? It’s only at home, not outdoors?

We have been given an older model humidifier. It’s about 3 ft. tall with a big fibrous belt that goes around inside.( It kinda looks like a small chest) It has a funky smell and I want to clean it without causing damage o it or our air quality.

Humidifiers are primarily used during the dry season; which could also be considered the cold season. So, it makes sense for there to be hot-air humidifiers but where do cold-air models fit in? You still need to keep your room warm, but with some heating options like hot air heat it seems like it would cancel out any benefit of having a cold-air humidifier, since it would have to be on high constantly just to compensate for the heating. I’ve heard many people say it’s good to keep your room cool even when you have a cold/sore throat but I don’t understand how this could be better than the healing benefits of hot steam air or even a sauna. What are the benefits of a cold room? It’s 75 in my room right now and I’m still cold because this evaporative cold-air humidifier is pumping out cold air. I’m thinking I’ll trade it in for a Vick’s vapor rub humidifier. What’s the correct answer here?

i live in ground floor flat ..window has air vent and i ofton have window open..some times there is droplets of water on window double glazing…in the built in wardrobe i have found mould on my clothes and on shoes and things on the floor…was told lack of air..the wardrobe door is always open….planning on knocking down this wardrobe and getting free standing wardrobe else where….i suffer very badly at mo with asthma and breathing probs at mo. and wonder if one of these above items would help me.but not sure what to get .thanks for reading this
walls been looked at and no damp just said nedd air to go round ! have window vent open always and window open most days,daught around window seal as well..seems plenty of air about..weird

Not the humidifier. where it releases humidity into the room but i’m talking about the machine that actually catches the humidity from the air and stores it in like an empty gallon and then u toss the water out. beause my basement is very humid and i don’t know how to et rid of it! please help me or give me advice!

How can I create warm humid air inside my boas enclosure? I have
used the fogger near the heated side but it eventually get colder. I have rigged up a humidifier with an air tube. If i add warm water it stays warm for only a short time. Any suggestions?

I have a small retail humidifier and use it in our babies’ room. During the winter we need the humidity. Now the air is more moist, we don’t need the humidity but we do need the white noise. Is it safe to run it without water?

We have had a couple of cold fronts blow in this week and my son’s voice has been a little hoarse, he has had a slightly stuffy nose, breathing heavier at night and has been generally cranky. He is 7 months old. I am not sure if it is allergens in the air or that the air is drier than normal. I don’t think the symptoms are severe enough to be a cold. Should I use a humidifier or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

My son has asthma and is very sensitive to dry air from the furnance. Someone told me that I can add a furnace humidifier. But there is not enough room near to furnace to do that. I am wondering whether there is any furnace or portable heater which comes with humidifier built in it. A separate humidifier doesn’t seem to help my son so far.

I’m a poor college student and can’t afford a humidifier, but I’m tired of waking up with dry sinuses, a really sore throat, and sometimes a bloody nose.

Alternative ways to get some moisture in the air?

I drive semi for a living and it tends to get very dry inside the truck. I’m planning on purchasing a humidifier for the truck soon, but I started wondering today if too much dry air can also cause a person to get sick, or at least help contribute to it. I know that it makes my eyes feel discomfort and my lungs feel raspy, but can the dry air actually be a contributing factor to your health? Thanks in advance!

Please make sure the humidifier is still made. There are so many choose from and so many places you can buy them.

I run my humidifier all winter long, and I have noticed I have a ridiculous amount of dust! Could using tap water in my humidifier cause dust?

Should I use distilled water to prevent this?

I do not have central air, live in an apartment, and keep doors and windows closed.
